You’ve probably heard the statistic that 2.5 MILLION weddings are happening next year. With that, we wanted to give you some tips on how to navigate a crazy busy year and how to prepare.
2.5 Million weddings is a large number in comparison to past years, especially compared to the last 2 years! Now that we are learning how to navigate this “new normal” of COVID, people are ready to get back to celebrating. This means that the event industry is going to be crazy busy in the new year. We have some tips on what you need to overcome this next year!
A Team
In 2022, you are going to want a team who can help you overcome this busy season. Think about who you need on your team to get the job done! If you don’t have a team yet, start out small with some delivery guys who can help with deliveries. You will definitely need the help on event days! If you have the capacity to hire more, think about hiring for marketing, sales, operations, or an assistant.
Systems + Processes
Be thinking now about what systems and processes you need in place to prep for the crazy season! If you are planning on bringing on a new salesperson, do you have an SOP that lays out their job responsibilities? SOPs are extremely important when onboarding new employees and so that the entire team is on the same page when it comes to processes. Get our SOP Bundle that includes our full sales process. We also highly recommend having softwares in place that make booking orders simple and easy. We use Goodshuffle Pro + love every feature! Lastly, template out the emails that you send to every client to save time. Grab our rental email templates and just tweak where needed!
When Things Go Wrong
The reality of events is that they almost never go perfectly. Usually, something gets changed last-minute and we have to be quick to problem solve. Think of some quick “to-do’s” when something goes wrong that you can prep for now, that way when the time comes you can be prepared. In our end of year meetings, we think ahead about possible things that could go wrong, then find a solution on how to overcome. Some examples are weather, broken product, logistics, etc. Think through these possibilities and how your team can overcome them when the time comes.
Lastly, don’t let this new year scare you. Events are coming back, and that’s GOOD NEWS. We just have to create a plan to get through the busy season. If you want our full course on starting a rental business, check out Rental Biz Academy! We’re rooting for you, friend!
