Hi friends! Welcome into another episode of The Render Podcast! We are so excited to have you here, as always, and are looking forward to talking with you about another topic near and dear to our hearts. We know how much authenticity is valued and here at Render and we value being authentic with not only our team, but with you!
That is why on this week’s episode, we are jumping into the nitty gritty of some unpopular takeaways that we do in our business that you may not necessarily do or have heard of! Grab your pen and paper and jot down some notes — you may learn something that you want to begin incorporating into your own company.
There, we said it! In this day and age, we can understand the feeling of needing to be present on every social media platform there is, but this is counterproductive. We all need to use our time wisely, and if you are pouring into a platform that is not bringing you ROI, then it’s time to let it go. For us, that was TikTok! While we can admit to mindlessly scrolling this platform, it did nothing for our business, and that is okay! What we have learned, by following metrics, is that Instagram and Pinterest are our best performing platforms that bring in leads, get us clients, and help boost our online presence at the same time. Kick that pressure to be everywhere and just be present where your presence is seen.
By the way, our Instagram was recently hacked at 11.3k followers (insert all of the emotions), and it would bring us so much joy if you follow our new account! You can find our new Instagram here and thank you in advance for joining forces with us to get back into the game!
Another thing that we do that may not be common practice or even considered unpopular is we share our business finances with the team! Now, we are not allowing everyone full access to the internal account, but we do share revenue numbers, leads, losses, profits, etc. each week on Monday mornings! Each week we meet to go over what that week looks like for that department, touch base on the events happening, and ensure that our team stays connected to create intentional and seamless practices and events for our clients. By sharing numbers with our team, we can help one another hit goals, keep one another accountable, and work together to problem solve if we need to. We know that in order to grow, staying connected as a team so we can better serve each other, our clients, and our community is only going to get better by working together.
While we are in rentals and floral, we see things that we love that might relate to our area of expertise, but not jumping into that head first is key. We know that we may love offering these services, but sticking to our wheelhouse and what we know is ultimately going to be best for us. Not spreading ourselves too thin is key to continuing to be successful is so very important. When we stay in our lane and focus on our offerings, we get better at them and learn how to make that an easier and overall experience for our clients. That is success. Being able to execute what you do well is what you should aim for, not wanting to have your foot dipped into multiple realms that may not align with your business. In this episode of The Render Podcast, we talk about what our Core Value, Better Than Yesterday, means to us! We think you will really resonate with this and have linked it here for you to listen to!
We are a busy, busy crew! We have some remote team members, we have operations crews who don’t ever really cross over with the sales team, we have marketing team members who may not always chat with the floral team, and so forth. Yet, because we are so very busy, we make sure to be intentional about connecting with one another and continue to support one another. We share a Slack channel and make sure to cheer each other on in a channel we all share and that is so nice during the busy season! This is a nice and easy way for us to cheer one another along during those long install days or the early mornings on site! Through supporting one another in our roles, we are able to continue building a stronger community!
It may be contrary to share business ideas with your team, but it elevates everyone when we are on the same page, literally and figuratively. We often are inspired to connect by reading some of the same books that are inspirational or have great business advice in them. By reading and keeping our brain moving with new information, it really helps you understand situations better. A recent read by Cam is Relationships First by Emily Frisella and it talks about the importance of leadership and how it is a great trait to have!
Thank you so much for being here and supporting The Render Podcast. We love having you being part of our community and will see you next week!
Joyfully,
Raven Scott | Podcast & Marketing Coordinator
