Welcome back to another episode of The Render Podcast. If you have been listening to the last few episodes, you know we have had our guest, Emily, of Emily Foster Creative joining us! In this mini-series, we have talked through the different types of websites you can have, how your branding matters (whether you invest in it or not), and much more!
We are wrapping up our mini-series with this episode and are sharing more about why you should choose Showit and your platform of choice when it comes to where you will host your website and showcase your work. Particularly, Emily uses Showit a ton with her branding clients and we are diving into why you should, too! Join us in today’s episode.
So why Showit, specifically? Sure there are tons of great sites out there that you can use for your website, but why do we sing its praises so much? Besides the integration capabilities it has, we love the ability the platform has when it comes to customization developing an overall brand look, and creating your brand identity. The features go beyond anything we could ever truly express, but we want to highlight even more of the wins we consider with this platform. User-friendliness is also a key component when selecting the platform you want to use for hosting your website as this will make or break the experience for your audience as well. The ability for your client or guests to look at your work, book your services, or buy your products will account for how your website is built and how convenient it is to use it. The way you even set up your website is going to be the determining factor for the overall success of your user experience.
Even something as simple as toggling over the buttons or images on the website can be way easier in Showit as you have more autonomy and control over where you want things to be done. While other website platforms are easy to use and efficient, this one has set itself apart with the huge flexibility it has that sets it apart from others.
On the flip side of this, having so many directions you can take the Showit platform without any templated guides or even trying to do it yourself can also feel overwhelming and not having a template or a designer, can hurt your efficiency in designing your website. You may get stuck on where to even begin and that can automatically feel frustrating and defeating.
When you are working on your business needs, think about specifically what you need. When you have that together, then you can navigate through the software or platforms you need. You can have software or platforms that work well for one reason or another, but you can also find the tools that allow you to integrate other platforms or software that you may need as well. Learning to do your work well and making sure you do your homework and understanding your goals is important when you are picking any platform.
The main purpose of having WordPress integrated into your Showit website is the main purpose of the blogging portion. You will still be able to customize your website to look and feel how you want it to, but if you want to drive traffic to your website via Pinterest and toward blog posts, you will also need to integrate the WordPress platform as well. If you are thinking about not having a blog, we would recommend reconsidering as that is going to be what drives your SEO to your website. The more you work on your SEO, the more you will have visibility and traffic to your site.
With WordPress and Squarespace, you can easily use Squarespace as it has built-in templates for you to select from and you can do a drag-and-drop manner there, but you surely would need a developer for WordPress if you are trying to go from Squarespace to WordPress.
The online chat support that you can get with Showit is unlike any other you will find with another platform. The chat box at the bottom of their website is there always and they will always do their best to help you or troubleshoot your problem. Emily even raves about how amazing their support team is when you have issues on a page or in a design and they will jump in and assist you. You want to ensure you are investing into a brand that will help you grow your brand and the relationships you are building as a business owner, and if that means they will help you along the way, that is an invaluable service they are offering.
