The difference between social + corporate events

Weddings + Social Parties

Weddings and social parties are usually more upbeat, personal parties with family and friends.  There are certainly clients with budgets in 100K+ range, but the majority of our orders are anywhere between 5-10K when it comes to these types of events. We love the energy and sentimental aspect that comes with weddings and social parties!

At social events, you will likely be working with wedding planners, mother-of-the-bride, or the bride themselves. They will want something unique and special to them. Normally, the wedding planners are very involved and check-in with the rental companies multiple times throughout the process to be sure that everything is ready to go. 

Corporate Events

On the other hand, corporate events are also upbeat, but more about the brand. With corporate events, their event budgets could be upwards of 100K – 1 million. Sometimes more! This means that our orders with corporate clients average to be a lot higher than weddings and social parties.  Hence, why we loooove corporate! 

At corporate events, you will likely be working with a DMC (Destination Management Company.) These planners are in charge of planning events around the world for large companies.  The difference between DMC’s and wedding planners is that DMC’s likely don’t have time to check-in on the project.  It is up to you and your company to make sure that everything is set + looks perfect for the client! 

Things to consider when working with corporate clients:

1. Timing — When it comes to corporate events like conferences, make sure to take time into consideration. It is likely that these events will be multiple days long! This plays a large factor into your availability, pricing, etc.
2. Location — Location determines everything.  The location of the event determines the aesthetics, the rentals you’ll be using, and the logistics.  If you haven’t been to the venue, we highly recommend doing a site visit before deciding on the rentals that you will be providing.   You want to be sure that your rentals will fit and any installations will be able to go as planned.
3. Design — Corporate clients love a good theme!  Something that we always do when working with corporate clients is ask a ton of questions to understand the brand and the aesthetic of the event.  For example, we included pineapples in our Tula installation because that was one of the ingredients in their product. It was a small detail that made a big impact and impressed our clients!
4. Customization — Customizable pieces are a must at conferences and brand activations.  Many corporate events will want to have areas where they can show off their brand logo and colors.  This means that it is crucial to have pieces that can be painted or have vinyl applied if you are wanting to dive into corporate events.
