On this week’s episode of The Render Podcast, we are focusing on something special! The 12 Days of Christmas, Our Favorite Things! We are approaching this a little differently and are excited to share our favorite things about our company The Render Co., who we have worked with this year, our student and podcast community, and so much more. We truly want to express our gratitude for the events we have executed, the success we have had, and the paths we have crossed! Join us to learn all about what we are most grateful for this holiday season!
These are the people who make up The Render Co. and who make us who we are as a company. The ones who have our backs when times are hard, when tasks get tricky, and when we need to lean on one another — having a strong team will only strengthen your ability to bring that innovation and next level to your clients and the events industry game. Look at how you can create an environment that is thriving, a true reflection of you and your brand, and a space that is welcoming for your freelancers to want to come back and work for you. Fostering love for the ones who help us succeed is vital to building your core team and creating a strong foundation.
Kaley — All things creative and the best at marketing! Kaley has been with us for 5 years now and is such a joy to work with.
Kathleen — A leader of our sales team and so great with our clients. We love her servant’s heart and how her visions for our clients come to life!
Allie — A great designer, and a wonderful leader of our floral team, and her innovative designs are such a breath of fresh air for our clients and business. We love our Allie and our clients love her!
Avery — A bubbly gal and so joyous to be around! She is new to our sales team and is such a blessing to our wedding clients.
John — The leader of our operations department and a part of our crew for 4 years now, John is talented in many different capacities and makes our deliveries seamless.
Brian — Brian has been with us for 3 years now and is a great asset to our rental and delivery team!
Dom — A champion for Render and one of our strongest leaders on the rental side of our business. Dom is a hard worker who has a great niche for thinking quickly when it is necessary!
Regina — A part of our warehouse team, Regina helps keep our warehouse moving and functioning smoothly. We love that Regina will jump in wherever she is needed to make whatever needs to happen, happen.
Laurel — One of our longest freelancers, Laurel is well versed in so many things: flowers, creative designs, quick thinking, and a strong designer on our floral team!
Raven — A longtime floral designer with Render, and now the Podcast Manager! Raven has worked with us for many years on large-scale events, and big projects we have dreamed up, and now works on the education team with the podcast, remotely!
Raina, The Freelancers, & The Part Timers — There have been seasons when a huge last-minute order has been booked and we needed the manpower to help accomplish these events. Without the help of our freelancers and part-timers, we would not have been able to get these things done!
Our clients range from wedding planners to engaged couples, social gatherings, and corporate events. The different brands we have gotten to work with are so inspiring to see and feel this accomplishment. We have a true belief that we have created a space where these brands and planners want to come back and work with us, and that makes us feel so good. We are so grateful for how far we have come and to see this come to fruition. Going that extra step has truly served our clients well, and in return, blessed us.
Who can agree that the events we have worked on and the designs we have accomplished have been some of the best yet most recently?! The progression in the overall designs within events has been fun to see and we have loved being innovative and inspirational these last few years in business. Sparking interest in design should come from all over — look up design blogs, search through a magazine, look for inspiration in a book. Get creative with where you draw your inspiration from and that will serve you so well within your company.
We are so grateful for healthy finances, aren’t you?! Being in business these last 3 to 4 years, our bank accounts were not struggling and events were flourishing. These last 2 years, it has been all about rebuilding everything back up from the worldwide shutdown and that has certainly come with its challenges. We are thankful for the bounce back in events and the revenue influx. With a strategic approach to our financial goals, we made it happen and are so proud of how far we have come.
The friendships we have created with our team members, our clients, and our freelancers has truly been a guide to our success. Making the ones you work with feel seen and appreciated is so important. Working to be intentional about your community impact not only is a reflection of you as a person, but as a business owner and what you want your brand to be known for. The relationships you build with people totally matter.
If you have been able to reap benefits from anything in this industry, we are going to encourage you to give back either with your time, monetarily, or your skills. It does not have to be in a super big way or even all 3 of those things, just pay it forward to your community. Serve your community in 2023 and give back to your clients, or even associations within your industry. WIPA, NACE, and MPI are event industry associations that we actively attend or volunteer to help with. If you want to learn more, you can listen to episode #89 on The Render Podcast we did with Nate Nelson about 10 Different Ways You Can Make An Impact.
The people who love our team members are so very important. That connection of family and friends who give their love and support is incredibly important — it truly keeps our team going! It is not uncommon for a brother, a sister, or a close friend to one of our team members to have jumped in to help on larger events and see how much of an impact they can also make! We are so grateful for the support systems that our team members have.
The extended team members we have like our wholesalers, or our suppliers for larger hard goods, custom pieces that we have built — we love them! We are so grateful for our extended team members and their efforts to help not only us, but other industry professionals succeed and assist us with what we need!
What is a friender? A friender is a vendor turned friend — neat right?! You may start as a vendor relationship, but the more you have worked together and gotten to know each other, you may go grab a coffee, or dinner and drinks after an event setup or breakdown. You begin to create a relationship outside of the professional environment and that can be such a great support within your business and when you need someone to bounce thoughts and ideas off of. So many things we experience as event professionals, and your frienders will truly understand that the most.
You guys, we love you! We are so appreciative of your listening, and your support, and it is such a joy to have an impact on our community through our education department. When we launched the education side of our company, we truly did not know what to expect but the fruitfulness has been incredible and we are so blessed to have all of your support.
Our students have been such a blessing to us! Whether you are a student through Rental Biz Academy, through one of our mini-courses, or you have purchased a resource through our website, it is so great to be able to give back to you through this free resource with the Podcast, but when you guys support us financially and purchase something through our website, it helps our business grow and be able to keep doing the podcast! We want to continue serving you through our podcast by being genuine with what we are bringing to you, so we don’t run ads because we don’t want to fill your ears with things that truly do not align with who we are. Again, thank you for all of your support!
Last but not least, we recently celebrated 10 years in business! In June, we hosted a party to celebrate the 10 glorious years of being in business and how we have been able to serve YOU through the events industry. We would not be here without all of your endless support, the events industry, and the support systems we have met along the way. When we look back, we are so proud of how far we have come and are excited to continue being innovative with our brand and our offerings to you! What an absolute joy it has been to build this business and know the impact we have had on our community.
As we close out 2022, we hope that you have enjoyed learning about what we at Render are thankful for as we switched up the typical 12 Days of Christmas approach. As you sit back and reflect on your year, consider making your own list of 12 things YOU are grateful for and lean into that in the New Year. Reflect back on your incredible year and sit in the emotions of all that you have accomplished. As always, we are SO grateful that you are here and we will see you next week!
Joyfully,
Raven Scott | Podcast Manager
